Volunteer Hours: 30 minutes per banner
Our handmade birthday banners are the centerpiece of every birthday celebration. These colorful creations are strung across hospital rooms to instantly transform the space into a celebration filled with happiness and color.

Hosting a birthday party supply drive is one of the most impactful ways to help. Each box we ship includes themed decorations, plates, cups, activities, books and streamers, and those items come directly from generous volunteers like you.
You can host a drive through your school, workplace, community group, or local business. Collect a minimum of 25 new, unused party supplies and send them to our headquarters in Middletown, Rhode Island. Your drive ensures we never run out of supplies, so every child can have a birthday celebration that feels special.

📚 Host a Book Drive
Volunteer Hours: 10 volunteer hours per completed drive
Hosting a book drive is a wonderful way to bring imagination and comfort to hospitalized children. Each Confetti Foundation birthday box includes a small gift of a book. Something magical that a child can enjoy long after the decorations come down.
Collect a minimum of 10 brand-new children’s books. These can be storybooks, picture books, or activity books appropriate for a range of ages, from 1 year old to teens. Gather donations from your friends and family, then ship them or drop them off at our headquarters in Middletown, Rhode Island. You can also create an Amazon Wish List and share it with friends and family so the books ship directly to our headquarters!

Volunteer Hours: 50 volunteer hours per hospital sponsorship
Sponsoring a hospital is one of the most powerful ways to make an ongoing impact. With a $3,500 donation, you or your organization can fund a full year of birthday boxes, up to 60 celebrations for children in one hospital waiting to join our program.
Your sponsorship opens the door for a new hospital to receive our birthday boxes and helps children across the country experience their birthday surrounded by decorations, smiles, and love.

💻 Organize an Online Fundraiser
Volunteer Hours: 20 volunteer hours per completed fundraiser
Online fundraisers let you raise funds right from home and help us build and ship more birthday boxes. Over the years, we’ve sent birthday boxes to more than 450 hospitals nationwide. Every project can be adapted to any age and ability, making it easy for families, groups, teams, or individuals to volunteer in a fun and meaningful way.
Do these volunteer projects count toward school or community service hours?
Yes! Many of our volunteer projects qualify for school or community service hours, including birthday banner crafting, supply drives, and online fundraisers. Once your project is complete, The Confetti Foundation can sign off on your school’s volunteer form. It’s a creative and rewarding way for kids to earn hours while learning the joy of giving back.
CAN I BUY THE ITEMS MYSELF FOR A DRIVE?
A drive means rallying your community. Collect donations from friends, family, neighbors, classmates, or coworkers rather than purchasing everything yourself. If you use Amazon, create your own Wish List, share it with your community, and ask donors to include your name on the gift receipt so we can credit your drive.
DO MORE ITEMS EARN MORE HOURS?
Hours are earned per drive, not per item. A book drive earns 10 hours whether you collect 10 books or 50. The minimum is just the starting line, though. Every extra item means more smiles for more kids! If you'd like to earn 20 hours, host two separate drives at different times of the year, each with its own Wish List.
HOW Do I GET My VOLUNTEER HOURS SIGNED?
Getting your hours verified is simple. Here's how it works.
Step 1: Complete your volunteer project.
Step 2: Fill out our Request Volunteer Hours form. Every volunteer needs to submit this form, even if you're mailing us a school form.
Step 3: If your school has its own form, mail it to our headquarters with a self-addressed stamped envelope, or submit it with your online request.
Step 4: Once your items or donations arrive, we'll sign off on your hours and send your form back.
