Earn 10 Volunteer Hours Per Drive | Minimum Collection: 25 New Party Supplies
*Hours are earned for organizing a drive, not per item or per box. Collecting more than 25 party supplies still earns 10 hours.
Hosting a party supply drive is a great way to get your school, group, colleagues, or community to share our mission of supplying birthday parties to hospitalized children! Your donations are what make our Birthday in a Box come to life.
IMPORTANT: WHAT COUNTS AS A PARTY SUPPLY DRIVE
A party supply drive means asking others to donate. To earn volunteer hours, you must organize a community drive by asking friends, family members, classmates, coworkers, neighbors, or local businesses to donate new party supplies.
Party supplies you purchase yourself, or supplies you buy using money you collected from others, do not qualify as a completed party supply drive and will not earn volunteer hours. The goal is to raise awareness, encourage community involvement, and inspire others to give.
WHY PARTY SUPPLIES MATTER
Each Confetti Foundation birthday box is filled with themed party supplies so a child can celebrate their special day, even from a hospital room. Plates, cups, napkins, banners, streamers, and confetti turn an ordinary day into a real birthday party. Your drive helps us make sure every child feels celebrated.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Set your goal.
The minimum to earn your 10 hours is 25 new party supplies, but that is the starting line, not the finish line. Set an ambitious goal! Many successful drives collect hundreds of party supplies.
2. Choose your supplies.
Collect new, unopened party supplies such as plates, cups, napkins, wooden utensils, straws, birthday banners, streamers, rolls of tape, confetti, stickers, coloring pages, crayons, and colored pencils. All items must be brand new and unopened to protect the health and safety of hospitalized children. We cannot accept food, candy, or any edible products.
3. Host your drive.
Start a collection at your school, office, local shop, place of worship, or community center by setting up a collection box. (Cardboard boxes covered in wrapping paper look great with our logo and wish list on the front!) Work with your location to set the dates of your drive: one day, a full month, or a whole season.
Shout your giving project from the rooftops! Post flyers, share on social media, and tell your friends, family, coworkers, and community about our mission and what YOU are doing to help. Check in on your box weekly and post progress updates to keep the excitement going. Your enthusiasm will inspire others to give too.
Using Amazon? Create your own Amazon Wish List for your drive and share it with your community. Donors purchase party supplies from your list and have them shipped directly to us. Donors must include your name on the gift receipt so we can credit the items to your drive. Items that arrive without your name cannot be counted toward your hours. Check out our wish lists to get an idea of what we need.
4. Ship or drop off your supplies.
Once your drive is over, collect your boxes and be sure to thank your host location and everyone who donated. Send all collected supplies to (reminder: these MUST be NEW, unopened items):

If dropping off, please place your supplies in a bag with your name and contact information and leave them in the drop-off box outside the door.
Please do NOT drop off supplies at your local hospital. Hospitals will not accept them on our behalf.
5. Submit your Community Service Hours Request (required).
Every volunteer must complete our Community Service Hours Request form to receive hours
The form will ask for your contact information, your school or organization, the number of items collected, how you shipped them (carrier and tracking number, if you have one), and when you need your signed form. If your drive used an Amazon Wish List, let us know!
You can send us your school’s community service verification form one of two ways:
Upload it directly in the request form, or
Mail it with your supply shipment, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope so we can mail it back to you.
We will sign off on your 10 volunteer hours once your supplies arrive at our headquarters.
CAN I EARN MORE THAN 10 HOURS?
Additional supplies collected during the same drive do not earn additional hours. A party supply drive earns 10 hours whether you collect 25 items or 250, and whether you send one box or ten.
To earn 20 hours, you may complete two separate drives at different times of the year, such as a Party Supply Drive and a Book Drive. Each drive must be its own project with its own Amazon Wish List. Two drives using the same Wish List, or held at the same time, count as one drive.
If you hold multiple drives and mail everything at once, you must show proof that each drive was separate, such as social media posts, flyers posted at each location, or verification from a teacher or mentor. There are no exceptions.
