*Hours are earned for organizing a drive, not per book. Collecting more than 10 books still earns 10 hours.
Every child deserves to feel celebrated and to have a story that sparks their imagination! By hosting a book drive for The Confetti Foundation, you can help bring moments of happiness, comfort, and creativity to hospitalized children on their birthdays.
IMPORTANT: WHAT COUNTS AS A BOOK DRIVE
A book drive means asking others to donate. To earn volunteer hours, you must organize a community drive by asking friends, family members, classmates, coworkers, neighbors, or local businesses to donate new books.
Books you purchase yourself, or books you buy using money you collected from others, do not qualify as a completed book drive and will not earn volunteer hours. The goal is to raise awareness, encourage community involvement, and inspire others to give.
WHY BOOKS MATTER
Each Confetti Foundation birthday box includes a new age-appropriate book! Books inspire imagination, provide comfort, and offer a joyful escape for children spending their special day in the hospital. Your drive helps us ensure that every child receives something meaningful to enjoy long after the party ends.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Set your goal.
The minimum to earn your 10 hours is 10 new books, but that is the starting line, not the finish line. Set an ambitious goal! Many successful drives collect hundreds of books.
2. Choose your books.
Collect age-appropriate picture books, storybooks, chapter books, and activity books. We serve children ages 1 to 18. All books must be brand new to protect the health and safety of hospitalized children.
3. Host your drive.
You can organize your book drive at your school, workplace, place of worship, or community center, anywhere friends and families gather to give back!
Using Amazon? Create your own Amazon Wish List for your drive and share it with your community. Donors purchase books from your list and have them shipped directly to us. *Donors must include your name on the gift receipt so we can credit the books to your drive. Books that arrive without your name cannot be counted toward your hours. Feel free to browse our Book Wish Lists for ideas when building yours.
4. Ship or drop off your books.
Send all collected books to (reminder: these MUST be NEW books):

If dropping off, please place your books in a bag with your name and contact information and leave them in the drop-off box outside the door.
5. Submit your Community Service Hours Request (required).
Every volunteer must complete our Community Service Hours Request form to receive hours:
The form will ask for your contact information, your school or organization, the number of books collected, how you shipped them (carrier and tracking number, if you have one), and when you need your signed form. If your drive used an Amazon Wish List, let us know!
You can send us your school’s community service verification form in one of two ways:
Upload it directly in the request form, or
Mail it with your book shipment, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope so we can mail it back to you.
We will sign off on your 10 volunteer hours once your books arrive at our headquarters.
CAN I EARN MORE THAN 10 HOURS?
Additional books collected during the same drive do not earn additional hours. A book drive earns 10 hours whether you collect 10 books or 200.
To earn 20 hours, you may complete two separate drives at different times of the year, such as a Book Drive and a Party Supply Drive. Each drive must be its own project with its own Amazon Wish List. Two drives using the same Wish List, or held at the same time, count as one drive.
